hi there,

do you know any accessible DVD-Ripper that works with jaws 7 or 8 and its freeware? Would be great, if you could help me, cause I need it!

Hmm, I don't know any free products, but a piece of shareware called DVD Audio Extractor lets you take the contents out of the DVD and make it into an mp3. It works great with JAWS. I don't think it is expensive. When I find the website for it, I will post the link to the website.

hmm, I know a way to extract the audio and it is for free, and it is accessible with jaws 3, 4, 5 through 9. Go to winamp (make sure you have the latest verions for all the codex) and then put your dvd. This time, though, when you are going to play it, go to the preferences (control plus P) and then select plug-ins. When you get to the output, select (and configure first!) the nullsoft disk writer plug-in. Once you have set it up the way you like it, play the dvd. you odn't hear any sound obviously, but that is going to be written to the hard drive as a sound file. Of course you can pause or stop the operation just as you would pause or stop any song. good luck!

lol... i do have the extractor too, although I am always glad there is a free alternative out there. Its not as complicated as it sounds... it takes longer to explain that to do, really

But what if one wants to extract both video and audio?
Not just audio.
Any accessible "dvd rippers"?
Not "dvd audio".

are you talking about demuxing the file? for example, to get the AC3 and M2V out of the vob file, you'd need to use a proggy like DVDDecryptor.

I suppose my real question is:
Is there an accessible ripper that will also convert the ripped matterial in to .avi, .rm.

hmm. not really. and the ones i found seem to not be well updated. all the professional ones aren't accessible. You're kind of S O L there.
